About this Journal
FurArtXchange is a competitive, but friendly, community where every fortnight one person's character is put up "for the draw". We then vote on the pictures to select the next Chosen. Both 2d and 3d art is accepted.

Late late late... sad but true. Irregardless, here is the picture I drew of the chosen way back around haloween:
I hope everyone understands the joke with the little person...

I think this deserves a few words.

First off, I'd like to thank Lemurkat for running this show :) She did a wonderfull job, was almost always on time, and best of all she cared. I personally owe this exchange and Kit Ither my ability to draw. I first saw this exchange in...Okay here's where I make an ass out of myself, really neat character, wolf with a skull head? Had this awsome pic of it singing along to Rob Zombie? I dont know, but either way I was really excited and I knew I wanted to compete in this even though in my mind I sucked hard. Let's not debate that last statement ;3 Here I shall divulge what my art ability was back then- but beware! This site is anceint and contains PURE HORROR!! *le gasp!* It contains my first ever FAX entry :0 http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/art/h/a/hathaway/hathaway.html

..Long story short, my list of goals was to win one round here, get an modpick on Elfwood, and get into college. I only ever accomplished one of those goals, but simply being here and *drawing competitively*, with a *deadline* did more for me than four years in the pitiful highschool art program we have here in hicksville :) I've even reccomended this community in specific to developing artists for this reason.

Anyway..I agree with the closing of the community for a few reasons, but I'm glad I got to participate in the rounds I did :) It was a lot of fun, especially when I got to meet some of you chosen ones *cough* Aura!*cough* at Anthrocon, and I'll probably remember working my fingers off trying to get good enough to 'beat' some of you people till my dying day!

*raises glass* So three cheers for Fax- may it rest in good memory
(And as a last hurrah, those of you who still have 'em, post a link to your first FAX entries, and to your latest work if you want ^_^)

im really sad to hear that furartxchange is being shut down, i really enjoyed participating in this community, and i know i havnt done for the last three rounds, but i took a break from drawing because i was self doubting again....but started up again by joining in a FAX2 round, though i dont belive that to be an excuse...

i have gotten much from drawing for this community, from way back when i first entered in aaaamory's round, til now...those of you who have watched the community since then will notice that i have improved greatly! A valuable experience drawing different creatures in different poses, and i wouldnt be where i am art wise without that.

thank you lemurkat for running this community, and its a shame that its come to this...but even i have noticed the lack of participating the last few rounds (myself included) *hugs to all*

My entry for this round. I drew Doug last time.

Graham seems awful sweet to me, so I drew him offering some candy to a regular budgie. X3

Anywho.. ENJOY!

The kanji on his pants is supposed to mean 'bird'. I am lame.

Wooties! Thanks to everybody who voted for me!
Right. I have quite a few characters over at my comic, Dansk Folly, so there’s plenty of material if you don’t feel like drawing birdies. I’d like to focus on my favourite character, Graham, (bio not updated in a while) who was originally a supposed to be a budgie. As (way back then) my character design wasn’t up to much, he appears to be a parrot-budgie cross, roughly five feet tall, slim, covered with light green feathers with a vivid red crest. His forearms and lower legs are featherless, yellow and a tad scaly, as his wings sprout from his shoulders, with lighter green feathers. He tends to be a bit pigeon chested, and normally wears light colours. A note about his design: it’s deliberately simple, so I can draw it twelve panels a week, so feel free to mess around and change it as much as you like.

Personality-wise, Graham is the stereotype other budgies hate. He is flighty, easily distracted by shiny things, and not all that smart. He is rather loyal, though, and has the tendency to pull things off though sheer hope and frantic energy, even if it should never work.

Comics with good references (he’s wearing a haloween costume in most of them because my comic in incredibly slow moving):

So, there’s Graham: flighty, jumpy, and unpredictable. Go crazy!
